  February 2006 Israel News Review
  2/27/2006 • Jerusalem
Click for my full news and analysis report covering the most important items during February here in Israel and around the region. It naturally focuses on the ongoing repercussions of the Hamas landslide victory one month ago, especially examining how Israel, the US and EU and surrounding Islamic countries are reacting to that Palestinian political earthquake. I also look at developments related to Iran’s nuclear program and Al Qaida’s growing connections to Palestinian terror groups.
  THE HAMAS DILEMMA
  2/8/2006 • World Net Daily
My latest commentary for the World Net Daily web site examines the Hamas landslide victory in the Palestinian elections two weeks ago, and the continuing impact of that stunning political earthquake. I point out how absurd it was for the US to urge Israel to allow Hamas to be included in the vote, even inside of Jerusalem, and explain why widespread suggestions that Hamas will now alter its basic principals as it assumes governmental power are undoubtedly mistaken. I also touch upon the spreading Islamic violence connected to the editorial cartoons first published last year in Denmark.
  POLITICAL EARTHQUAKE: HAMAS WINS
  1/26/2006 • Jerusalem
I mentioned in my monthly news update published here on Monday that a Hamas victory in the Palestinian elections would create a political earthquake with far reaching aftershocks. This morning, that earthquake has apparently struck, meaning one of Israel’s worst nightmares is coming true. I was the first Western journalist to write extensively about Hamas in my first book published in 1991.
  January 2006 Israel News Review
  1/23/2006 • Jerusalem
Click below for my Israel news review and analysis report covering the dramatic events that have shaken Israel so far in January. Due to the sudden ascension of former Jerusalem mayor Ehud Olmert to the prime minister’s chair earlier this month, I detail his background as well as look at how he is projected to fare in Israel’s March 28th national elections, and also what he might do while in power. I also examine how this week’s Palestinian legislative elections and spiraling tensions with Iran might affect the Israeli elections

Election Campaign Begins as Arab Attacks Escalate
  12/28/2005 • Jerusalem
Click below for the latest Israel news review and analysis report covering events that took place this month. It naturally focuses on the upcoming Israeli elections, scheduled for exactly three months from today. I also examine the health crisis that suddenly struck the Prime Minister during December, and continuing Palestinian terror and rocket attacks amid growing turmoil in areas controlled by the Palestinian Authority.
  November 2005 Israel News Review
  11/21/2005 • Jerusalem
This month’s Israel news and analysis report begins with the news of Ariel Sharon’s resignation as Prime Minister, capping ten days of very dramatic political developments in Israel. All this comes as tensions are rising again along Israel’s northern border with Lebanon. I expect to be writing next month’s news update from my home in Jerusalem. My visit to New Zealand went well, with many good meetings on both islands, following several months of traveling and speaking in the United States and Canada. I am finishing my round the world tour here in Australia before heading back to the center of the world.
  October 2005 Israel News Review
  10/29/2005 • Jerusalem
This month’s Israel news review and analysis report looks at renewed Palestinian rocket and terrorist attacks upon Israeli civilians, with serious implications for the tumultuous Middle East. With Israeli military forces now massing near the Gaza Strip, a wider conflict could be brewing. The tense situation has not been helped by fresh Iranian threats to annihilate tiny Israel.
  September 2005 Israel News Review
  9/26/2005 • Jerusalem
This month's news review details the dramatic aftermath of Israel's mid-August land withdrawals from the Gaza Strip and a part of northern Samaria. The pullouts produced a new challenge to Ariel Sharon's Likud party leadership by two politicians who hope to replace him. Meanwhile Palestinian Muslim groups launched fresh attacks upon Israel soon after the pullouts were completed. Israel's reaction to that, and to the hurricanes that have devestated portions of America, is also examined.
  GAZA AND KATRINA
  9/16/2005 • WorldNetDaily
This is my latest commentary for the World Net Daily web site. As the name implies, it focuses on the massive hurricane that struck the American Gulf Coast over two weeks ago, and its possible connection to the August Israeli civilian and military withdrawal from the Gaza Strip and a portion of northern Samaria. I know it will be controversial to some readers, but I must write what I think none the less. I will be posting my monthly Israel news review here late next week.
