The forth edition of HOLY WAR FOR THE PROMISED LAND features an historic overview of the Arab/Israeli conflict, with an emphasis on the central role that Islam has played in it. That vital material is coupled with the author's personal experiences living and working as a journalist in Israel since 1980.

Dolan was the first Western journalist to write about the Palestinian Hamas group in the first edition of this book (Thomas Nelson, 1991), accurately predicting that it would go on to become a major player in the Arab-Israeli conflict. Soon after the book originally appeared, it went on to become a bestseller in English, and was also published in seven other languages. An updated version was published by Hodder & Stoughton in the UK in late 1992, and another edition by Baker/Revell in early 1998. The final chapters of the new edition examine prospects for peace in the troubled Middle East, tied in with biblical prophecy.

Among the chapters in the new Broadman & Holman edition are these: From Baghdad to Bibi, Holy War of Stones, Busting out of
Arabia, and many more. Holy War's one chapter synopsis of Jewish history, along with another that delves into the controversial religion of Islam, have proved to be valuable resources for many readers. The new edition includes four maps of the Holy Land and a full and updated index, and features an entirely new chapter and other new material.

HOLY WAR details many important developments that have taken place from the end of 1997 until today, especially the complete breakdown of the Oslo “land for peace” process--which the author predicted in earlier editions--and the ongoing Palestinian attrition war that has followed.  The veteran correspondent also writes for the first time about the CBS Radio Network decision in late 2000 to stop broadcasting his news reports following a complaint from Palestinian legislator Hannan Ashrawi.

This highly acclaimed book has been praised by many readers.
Moody Church pastor and popular author Erwin Lutzer told his congregants that it is the best book on the Middle East he has ever read. Similar comments were made by the Archbishop of Canterbury’s Mideast envoy, Canon Andrew White, who said he bought many copies for his co-workers to increase their understanding of the complex Arab/Israeli dispute. All 100 US senators were sent copies by an enthusiastic reader in Minnesota in the early 1990s, and over a dozen wrote to say that it helped them unravel this crucial conflict that affects the entire planet.

To increase your understanding of the complex
Middle East, and especially of the land and people of Israel, get your copy of HOLY WAR FOR THE PROMISED LAND today!
